Inkpaw sat in camp waiting until the last minute to leave. She was still furious with her mom and dad for lying to her and keeping the fact that she had other siblings a secret from her, her entire kit-hood. How could they do that to her? Her tail lashed from side to side finally she decided to could wait no longer and had better head out to meet her mentor Silverfox at the river like she had been ordered to do.
As she left camp she quickly picked up her pace not wanting to be late. Silverfox had never done anything to her. He was a good mentor, and she shouldn't take her anger out on him. Though sometimes her anger would just build and build until she exploded. Thankfully that had only happened once before and no one had been around. She had been out on her own and she ended up finding an injured bird and pulverized it until it resembled nothing like what it was. She had than quickly hid it under some bush's so no one would ever find it. As far as she knew no one ever had.
Finally Inkpaw reached the river, looking around she didn't see Silverfox any were so she decided she would try and teach herself to swim. She hadn't had a swimming lesson yet and really wanted to learn. She thought back to when she had seen other cats swimming and tried to remember how they had done it. She slowly crept into the water it was cold but it wasn't that bad. She walked out until she could barely touch the ground. The water was pretty swift. And before she knew it the currant was pulling her down stream and she was struggling to get back to shore. She reached out with her claws trying to grab onto something under the water. But it wasn't until the water swept her near a branch hanging in the water that she finally got a hold and began to pull herself to shore. Inkpaw felt completely embarrassed and hoped no one had seen her.
